Rabenold Looks Forward to Return Home for the Pocono 200

Slatington, PA- This weekend marks the third trip to Pocono Pennsylvania for ARCA/REMAX series driver Kory Rabenold and his #63 race team in their young ARCA career.

Kory and the team had a good outing last season and Rabenold finished off his Pocono debut last June with a solid 12th place effort. He tried to improve on that finish in August, but while running fifth he fell victim to an accident, yet still managed to pull off a top-twenty finish with a damaged race car.

Kory spoke about his past races at Pocono and what his hopes are for his third trip to the tricky triangle. "After being at so many tracks I would have to say I really hope my car comes in early for this event", he said. "Other tracks I have gone to we struggled with setup in the early stages, but Pocono being my home track I think we have a good shot at finishing well."

Tracks like Pocono require a lot of stamina and focus. Rabenold claims that he is more prepared than ever for this next endeavor. "I think I have prepared myself for this event very well due to Fitness Club of Walnutport coming on board for a sponsor this year". He continued, "Along with working out I have found techniques to drink fluids heavily before the race, with emphasis on staying hydrated."

His main goal is simple- to do as well as possible with the strapped budget that the team has. "I would have to say my goal for the June event is to come home with a decent finish." I think all the preparing we did for this event will pay off in the end".

Some of the changes that the team has made consist of a body style upgrade from a 2005 to a 2007. Rabenold claims that will add more down force to his race car. Also the team took everything that they've learned from other tracks to Pocono, and it should help them in the long run. Kory also feels that all of the practicing that he did at Pocono in the ARCA SIM Racing will really pay off.

Aside from the chassis itself, Rabenold also spoke highly of his race team and said, "The crew hasn't let me down and I think everyone is ready to step up to the plate." So far I did well here (Pocono) and I feel comfortable about my racecar due to how it worked in the past." I also feel really good about the setup this year and I'm in it to win it for my hometown!"

Qualifying for the Pocono 200 is slated for Friday, June 6 at 1:45 EST. The green flag will drop for the start of the Pocono 200 on Saturday, June 7 at 1:00 PM.
