Kory Rabenold and the Rabenold Racing Team will be leaving for Salem, Indiana on Friday, April 11th. Rabenold is one of the 42 hopefuls attempting to qualify for Sunday’s Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200. Up for grabs is $114,907 in prize, point, and contingency money.
After a disappointing trip to Daytona, Rabenold's #63 Interstate Batteries of Allentown was stripped of it's motor and has been equipped with a different short track motor that has been tuned by Scott Ritter of RPM Racing Engines.
Rabenold will be qualifying on the high banked, .555mile oval on Saturday, April 12th at 3:30. The record for qualifying is set at 16.785 seconds or 119.035 mph. The race will take place on Sunday April 13th with a 2:15 start time.
In speaking with Rabenold about the upcoming race, he offered this statement. "Even though we didn't have any luck at Daytona I feel like I have a good shot at making this race," said Rabenold. "We have been preparing for this race since we came back from Daytona and my team has a lot of confidence. My main goal is to make the race and finish the race," Rabenold said. "My team and I are going to Salem with our heads up and ready to fight. My dad has put a lot of hard work into the setup of the car and my plan is to drive like I stole it."
