RABENOLD RACING FOR 2009 |

BAD LUCK, IT'S ALL A PART OF SHORT TRACK RACING
For the second week in a row, bad luck has struck Kory Rabenold and the Kory Rabenold Racing/Zacharias Motorsports team. Last week, after being involved in two on track incidents that left the car with a broken steering rack and a car that was far from perfect, Kory was able to muster an 8th place finish. Unfortunately, this week, finishing the race wasn't an option.
Kory began the evening, starting 6th in his heat race and was able to avoid some early spins and move his way to the front. As the laps clicked off in the heat race, Kory found himself in the runner-up spot gaining some valuable championship points. When the checkered flag fell, Kory scored a 2nd place finish. The driver wasn't satisfied with the car, so, when he came back into the pits, he consulted with his team and some changes to the set-up were made. After the adjustments, the KRR team bolted on fresh Hoosier rubber and set him to the staging area. Kory found himself starting in the 11th position, with the point's leader, John Bennett on the outside of him in the 12th spot.
Kory's goal was to survive the start, b/c starting that deep in field at MVS, anything can happen, and it can happen quickly. As the green flag fell, drivers started jockeying for position almost immediately. Before the close of the first lap, another driver, was attempting to put his machine on the inside row, by closing a gap with his car. Unfortunately, that gap was too small, that driver had some contact which sent him spinning and while trying to avoid any additional damage, made contact with the Zacharias Motorsports, #63 and ended Kory's night and any chances for a top 10 finish. A dejected Kory Rabenold and KRR Team, made an attempt to fix the car to get him on the track and make some laps, but unfortunately, the only yellow in the feature was for Kory. The race ended a short 10 minutes later.
KRR and the Zacharias Motorsports Team will re-group and will be ready for Saturday May 16th. Hopefully, luck will turn around and Kory will be able to race his machine to the front.
Kory Rabenold and the KRR Team would like to take a moment and say "Thank you," to a couple of new sponsors who have come back on board. Mama's Pizza of Slatington, Pa, has agreed to sponsor Kory's weekly racing action. In addition, Dynamite Woodworking of Palmerton, Pa has also come back on board. We would also like to Thank Buzzy, of Buzzy's Auto Body, Computer Pals and Brooksy's Beers and Barrels of Slatington, Pa.
