Kory started racing 1/4 midgets at age 5 and competed for 8 years at tracks located in Pennsylvania and the Northeast. In 2002, he started racing in the 4-cylinder division at Mahoning Valley Speedway and received "Rookie of the Year" honors. Kory was named "Most Improved Driver" at Mahoning Valley Speedway in the 4-cylinder division in 2003. In 2004, Kory was crowned "4 Cylinder Points Champion" at Mahoning Valley Speedway. The 2005 racing season saw Kory enter the Modified division at Mahoning Valley Speedway. He finished the year 9th in the points standings after winning a 100 lap, $3000 to win modified feature, in a brand new Troyer Modified. That was the first time that that car was seen on the track and Kory was able to drive it to Victory Lane. In 2006, Kory started competing in the ROC, (Race of Champions), Asphalt Modified Tour where he became the youngest driver to win a ROC feature event. He was named ROC "Rookie of the Year" on the ROC tour and also received the "2006 Rookie of the Year Stock Class" by the Checkered Flag Fan Club.

2007, Kory took the next big step in his young career and he left the modified division and he started competing in the ARCA/Remax Series, under his family owned race team. Due to limited sponsorship, Kory competed in only four ARCA/Remax series races, one at Toledo Speedway where he finished 16th, two at Pocono Raceway where he finished 12th and 16th, and one at the Milwaukee Mile where he finished 27th. While at the Milwaukee mile, after Kory's day ended due to a blown motor, Kory drove as relief Driver in the Andy Belmont Racing, #1 Ford Fusion.

Kory started his 2008 ARCA season in his family owned Chevy Monte Carlo, with hopes of qualifying for the ARCA 200 at Daytona International Speedway on February 9, 2008. However, his hope competing in that race did not happen, due to the fact that Kory's car was down on horsepower needed to make a competitive lap. Kory would not give up though, due to a limited budget, Kory did compete in 5 other ARCA RE/MAX races that season. He competed in both races at Salem Speedway, earning him a season best finish of 15th; Kory also competed at Rockingham Speedway, and finished in the 20th spot. Kory also competed in both Pocono events in 08 and finished out his season at the New Jersey Motorsports park, marking his first career attempt on a road course, finishing the rain shortened event in the 21st position.

2009, Kory found himself piloting a Terry Zacharias Motorsports Asphalt Modified at Mahoning Valley (MVS) speedway. In 8 starts at MVS, Kory had 1 feature win, 5 top 5's and 1 top 10. Kory was 2nd in the point standings, outside of the 1st place spot by less than 10 points. With 10 races into the 2009 ARCA season, Andy Belmont then called Kory and asked if he would be the driver for the remainder of the year in #14, Andy Belmont Racing, Ford Fusion. Kory jumped at the opportunity and said good-bye to MVS and his torrid points battle and would compete in the ARS series. Kory will be racing in 12 events, after 10 of those events, Kory is currently 19th in the drivers points and with 2 events remaining, has a career best finish of 13th at the 1 mile dirt track of Duquoin, IL.
